Wild animals and captive-born animals are commonly kept in captivity in
such places as zoos, safari parks, shelters and aquariums. They are
placed in captivity for different purposes - for the protection of
endangered species, the welfare of injured animals, as well as for
education and entertainment purposes.
Over the next week, students will explore a variety of related information addressing both sides of the issue - against zoos and in favour of zoos. Working together, students are to consider the issue and determine their own viewpoint.
